A discretionary equity trader from Kaohsiung joined three private sessions after repeatedly buying breakouts that printed high volume on the first push and then stalled. We reconstructed five opens from their journal, marking where volume arrived after price had already traveled — effort chasing result.
The change we agreed on was procedural: no entry in the first twelve minutes unless a prior-day high-volume node was being accepted or rejected with a second wave of volume. Over the following month they sent annotated screenshots; two of five opens still broke the rule, which we treated as data rather than failure. The story matters because the constraint (Taiwan open liquidity and their own impatience) stayed visible in every review.
